Places to put down what you are carrying

Closed support groups for the specific ways this work wears people down, and informal meetups where nobody has to translate their working week.

Heart to Heal

Support groups, for and by mental health professionals

Closed cohorts that run over several weeks. Facilitated by practitioners who have needed the same group themselves, which is why these are not workshops about self care.

  • Burnout & the Cost of Caring

For practitioners who are still functioning while quietly running on empty. A closed space to understand the impact of sustained clinical work, speak honestly about what the work is costing you, and think about how to practise more sustainably.

5 weeks · 5 sessions · 90 minutes per sessionKept to 6–8 practitionersNext cohort being scheduled
    • Burnout, emotional exhaustion and the pressure to keep showing up
    • Caseload, boundaries and emotional capacity
    • Recognising when caring becomes overextending
    • Reconnecting with needs, limits and sources of restoration
    • Building a more sustainable way of practising
  • Vicarious Trauma

For practitioners carrying the stories, emotions and experiences of their clients beyond the therapy room. A facilitated space to understand what repeated exposure can do to you and develop healthier ways of holding the work.

5 weeks · 5 sessions · 90 minutes per sessionKept to 6–8 practitionersNext cohort being scheduled
    • Understanding vicarious trauma and cumulative exposure
    • Intrusive material, emotional residue and changes in worldview
    • Boundaries between clinical work and personal life
    • Processing what gets carried home from the room
    • Developing sustainable ways of holding difficult work
  • First 10 Clients

The first few clients can bring a surprising amount of uncertainty: “Was I helpful? Did I ask the right question? What do I do next?” A closed peer space for therapists navigating the transition from knowing therapy to actually doing it.

5 weeks · 5 sessions · 90 minutes per sessionKept to 6–8 practitionersNext cohort being scheduled
    • Finding your footing with your first clients
    • Overthinking sessions and building clinical confidence
    • Getting unstuck after difficult sessions
    • Boundaries, cancellations and client expectations
    • Developing trust in your own emerging clinical judgement
  • When Therapy Gets Stuck

For the sessions that leave you thinking, “I don’t know where this is going anymore.” Bring the difficult, confusing and repetitive cases to a space where therapists can think together without judgement.

5 weeks · 5 sessions · 90 minutes per sessionKept to 6–8 practitionersNext cohort being scheduled
    • Recognising when therapy has become stuck
    • Understanding patterns between therapist and client
    • Working with disengagement, resistance and ambivalence
    • Thinking through ruptures and difficult therapeutic moments
    • Finding new ways to approach cases without rushing to intervene
  • Private Practice, Real Talk

Private practice is more than seeing clients. A closed peer space for therapists navigating the realities behind the work — money, boundaries, cancellations, visibility, uncertainty and building a practice that can actually sustain you.

5 weeks · 5 sessions · 90 minutes per sessionKept to 6–8 practitionersNext cohort being scheduled
    • Finding and retaining clients without losing your values
    • Fees, cancellations and uncomfortable money conversations
    • Boundaries, availability and the pressure to always be accessible
    • Managing the emotional and practical load of running a practice
    • Building a sustainable practice without burning yourself out

Why cohorts are small and closed

The same people, every week, for a fixed run. It takes a few sessions before anyone says the true thing, and that does not happen in a group with a revolving door. Everyone speaks to a facilitator first, which is about fit rather than screening.

Which city are we coming to next?

Offline meetups over coffee, with a topic and no agenda beyond it. Cities being scheduled are listed first. If yours is open, tell us. That is how the next one gets chosen.

And online, in the meantime

  • Psych Discussion

An online room for thinking out loud about the work: a paper, a case, a question you have not resolved.

  • Therapy Brew

Deliberately informal. No agenda, no presentation, no takeaway. Just practitioners talking.

Come to one and see.
You do not have to commit to anything.

Most people arrive at a meetup knowing nobody and leave with two numbers in their phone. That is the whole idea.
